Rumor: iPad 3 Release Early March, Media Event Planned For February

We’re practically two days away from Apple making its “e-book creation tools” announcement this Thursday (Jan. 19), but that isn’t stopping the world’s largest tech company from making more waves on the tech front, as recent rumors have the Cupertino Clan prepping to steal the month of February by unveiling the long-awaited iPad 3. Japanese blog Macotakara reports the company plans on introducing its next-gen tablet early next month, with an early March release window:

According to asian supplier and a source in United States, Apple seems to prepare to hold Special Event in early February.

Because Chinese factory will be in holiday of New Year, then new product is concidered to be released in early March.

Another interesting note found in Macotakara’s report is that Apple will also spotlight iOS 5.1, which is currently in its testing phase.

Bloomberg also states the iPad 3 will feature a Retina Display, 4G service, and a quad-core processor. Other sources indicate the device has been in production the past month, with China factories working 24-hour shifts.
