A month or two ago Statik Selektah had the internet buzzing when he announced he had in fact produced a track for Obie Trice’s upcoming album. The track “Richard” features Eminem over a classic Statik beat. The Source and myself gave Statik his first listen to the final product and here is his thoughts.
“I’m really excited about this record! Obie came through after my Shade 45 show one Thursday at like 2am and he picked the beat and did a verse. Then he said he would finish it in detroit. He hit me a few weeks later like “ima get Em on it”. Ima be honest, I didn’t believe it at first. Then people in the Shady camp started telling me they heard it and it’s ill etc and obie asked for the session so “marshall can mix it”.
