Obie Trice’s Bottoms Up release party featured a more intimate set up at NYC’s S.O.B.’s. With Statik Selektah on the ones and twos Obie opted to bounce between old Obie and newer Obie, at the end of the day it’s still Obie. Those who are more familiar with his older material were treated to “We All Die One Day” and “The Set Up.” Newer records included his 2011 release “Battle Cry,” as well as Bottoms Up standouts like “Spend the Day” and “Richard.”
Obie recently called Bottoms Up “vintage Obie,” he explained, “I just wanted people to understand when you bought the album you’re going to hear Obie. It’s not me doing anything different, all those records were made in the last 8 months.”
