I think Mike Woodson is doing a pretty good job but the Knicks head coach rumor mill is still churning heavily.  With the oust of Mike D’Antoni there have been reports of former Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, former Blazers coach Nate McMillan and even former Lakers coach Phil Jackson possibly becoming the new coach of the Knicks.  The latest added to the list is the Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari.  Calipari finally won the NCAA championship with the Wildcats this year and now he may be looking at a return to the NBA after a failed stint with the New Jersey Nets.

A big selling point for Calipari to the Knicks is money and a big stage.  The Knicks can offer Calipari a huge contract that Kentucky won’t be able to match; Calipari also gets the one of the biggest stages in the world at MSG.  It is uncertain whether the Knicks will make him an offer but big names usually appeal to Knicks owner James Dolan.  I’m sure Phil Jackson is still the number one choice but who knows if he’ll return to the NBA.
