Flatbush Zombies

Hip-Hop continues to pose the question, “Where Brooklyn at?” Enter the Flatbush Zombies, three Brooklynites roaming together since the fourth grade. Their Zombie lifestyle can be traced back to dabbling with LSD as young teenagers. Now in their early 20s, those psychedelic experiences have translated into much-talked about viral hits like “Thug Waffles” and “S.C.O.S.A.”

The potency of MCs Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and producer/MC Erick Arc Elliot is similar to their indulgences—intoxicating and raw. Lyrically, their chemistry is balanced over powerful synthesized production from Elliot, who is dubbed the “architect” of the group.

“Anything we experience can inspire a new concept,” explains Juice. The group credits their paraphernalia powered imagination. “If we didn’t have that, we would be drones working nine-to-fives; instead I do what I want,” says Meechy.

The future seems bright for the zombie trio, as Meechy warns, “2012, Year of the Dead.” Don’t fear the zombie invasion, embrace it.
