Artist Tom Stanford’s inaugural public art project is a homage to a few cultural icons that have lived in worked in NYC’s Lower East Side neighborhood. The large gilded icon paintings are of Martin Wong, Joey Ramone, Miguel Piñero, Ellen Stewart, Charlie Parker, Arthur Fellig and Allen Ginsberg. The exhibit is installed between Ellen Stewart Theater and the offices of La Mama etc. on East 4th Street (between Bowery & 2nd Ave) and will be up until September 5th, 2012.
