UConn men’s basketball team is banned from the 2013 postseason next year. On Wednesday, the NCAA placed a one-year postseason ban because of the program’s low academic progress rate scores. The NCAA requires a 900 average score out off 1000 for four years and a 930 average score over two years. UConn fell short as they scored 826 and 902. The school has proposed alternate penalties however any action to reverse the decision looks unlikely. Walter Harrison, chairman of the Committee on Academic Performance stated,”I do not expect us to make any changes retrospectively. If we make changes, and I’m not sure that we will make any, that would be done prospectively, I believe. And I think there’s very little chance we’re going to change anything.” Do you think that the consequence is too much?
