Today is the born date of one-half of Gangstarr, Guru. Accompanied by DJ Premier’s skills on the one’s-and-two’s, Guru created a whole new wave of Hip-Hop as it took over the radio waves telling phony rappers to step in the arena, if they dared, to put up or shut up. Sadly, Guru passed away July 19th, 2010 after battling cancer.
Gangstarr, Guru and DJ Premier, brought mass appeal to the Hip-Hop world and will forever be remembered as one of the greatest Hip-Hop MC and DJ duos.
