Hip-hop lost another pioneer today, Boogie Down Productions 1st lady and ex-wife of KRS-One, Ms. Melodie has passed away. Ms. Melodie was a pioneer for female MCs as she paved the way for most of the acts you see today, her cause of death is unknown at this point. Above you can hear the song ‘Live On Stage.’ She’s most recognizably known for her verse on the classic anti-violence track “Self Destruction” R.I.P. Ms. Melodie. Our condolences go out to her sister Harmony, KRS, Kenny Parker, D-Nice and the rest of the BDP family.
