PSY woops the competition for International Artist Of The Year
There’s no doubt that Youtube plays such a vital role in the music industry these days. No video in its history has had more hits than PSY’s “Gangnam Style.” You know you want to sing it right now. The instant phenomena quickly grossed well over 500,000,000 hits with the official video—and live performances and knock off visuals followed behind with its own impressive number (over 20,000,000 hits!). The instant K-Pop hit invaded various other regions of the world, including America landing the Korean “rapper” at number one on iTunes’ Music Video Chart, ousting Justin Bieber’s “As Long as You Love Me” and Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake.” If that wasn’t enough to grab the attention of the Hip-Hop community, PSY (whose real name is Park Jae-Sang), signed with Scooter Braun and Schoolboy Records/Universal Republic.
