Peace! Today’s Mathematics is Power. Power is a controlling force of energy that possesses the ability to cause change. In the realm of man, woman, and child, the Power is the truth because everything is real, meaning that it has an actual cause and effect. The truth is the light that shines in the darkness of ignorant minds and is manifested through one’s words, ways, and actions. Therefore, Power is manifested through the Wisdom of the individual and is reflected or absorbed by those within your circumference.

The Power that we possess come from our ability to “keep it 100” with each other, but more importantly, ourselves. Let’s not fool ourselves into thinking that America’s financial situation will improve and our personal finances will reflect that. With the national unemployment rate up, particularly among Black people, we have to become economically independent as a people. If you live in the hood, ask yourself how many businesses in your hood that are owned by people that look like you. In the meanwhile, private businesses in Colorado and Washington state will be introducing marijuana vending machines. There are hundreds of thousands of illegal businessmen in our community that could take advantage of this, but a lack of education keep them outside of the bounds of the law. It has always been an unwritten rule to keep Black people in a restricted state of existence. That’s why the arrests of personalities like b-ball star Latrell Sprewell for playing loud music and Frank Ocean for weed possession is not surprising. Even in other countries, black people are called animals and monkeys, like what was done on the field to soccer player Kevin-Prince Boateng, but you don’t see Black people charged with cannibalism like that cop in New Jersey. Black people do seem to have a propensity to hurt themselves, whether it be self inflicted through drugs or alcohol or violently towards each other, which cannot be ignored or denied. We have to remember that we create our own destiny by the thoughts we put into the atmosphere. Up and coming ATL rapper Yung Teddy was murdered just moments after he tweeted out ‘NIGGAS WANT ME DEAD’. What we put into the atmosphere we have the Power to bring it into existence whether we realize it or not just by speaking it. On a brighter note in Hip Hop, it’s great to see Andre 3K and Big Boi join forces again on a Frank Ocean track. “Pink Matter” is the first track that the iconic duo have appeared together since 2010.

Power is the authoritative energy that we all possess to some degree or another that influences what occurs on this planet. Be mindful of what you say or do because you have a latent ability to make it come true. Peace!
