The Source Magazine was on the red carpet for Director Shola Lynch’s latest documentary “Free Angela and All Political Prisoners.” The premiere was held at The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem. Notables in attendance included the film’s subject, Angela Davis, its Executive Producers Jada Pinkett Smith, WIll Smith and Sidra Smith. Davis was joined by her sisters Eisa Davis and Fania Davis.

We also spotted Melanie Fiona, Model Liya Kebede, Tamara Tunie, Marcus Samuelsson, Omarosa Manigault, Angie Martinez, Kid Capri, Common, Harry Belafonte, Director Kasi Lemmons, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Ruby Dee and Melvin Van Peebles, to name a few.

The after-party continued nearby at Ginny’s Supperclub at Red Rooster. The evening was presented by ROCNATION (Jay-Z is also a producer on the film), CodeBlack Entertainment, D’USSE, Lionsgate, the Tribeca Film Institute, Sundance Institute, BET, AMC Theaters, Overbrook Entertainment and more.
