Kevin Durant Surrenders Scoring Title to Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant have been neck and neck for the scoring title in the past few weeks but, Melo has been on a scoring rampage lately.

In order for KD to reclaim his scoring title he must dish out 70 points in tonight’s game against the Bucks. This is a feat that isn’t nearly impossible for we’ve seen Kobe drop a light 81 back in 2006 and even back in 1978 David Thompson dropped 73 points in the final game of the season.

Unfortunately, Kevin Durant took to Instagram and told fans that he will not partake in tonight’s game saying “SITTING OUT TONIGHT’S GAME, if you disappointed I didn’t try to go for the scoring title, oh well!!”

KD’s decision puts Melo in the ideal position to take his first scoring title this year. Even though it would have been pretty interesting to see Durant go on a shooting spree tonight and score 70 points, its great to see Melo nab his first scoring title.
