Will the Redskins change their name?
The Washington Redskins have been urged by 10 members of the US Congress to change their name because it is offensive to Native Americans. Those 10 members have issued a letter to Redskins owner Dan Snyder, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and FedEx (Redskins sponsor) about the changing of the name. The letter that was issued to Dan Snyder states that: “Native Americans throughout the country consider the ‘R-word’ a racial, derogatory slur akin to the ‘N-word’ among African Americans or the ‘W-word’ among Latinos.”

In the midst of the effort to get rid of the Redskins name owner Dan Snyder has said that he will never change the name.
