Last night at the Rucker Park in Harlem, EBC welcomed the NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, who was appointed as celebrity coach for Team MMG.
The night was full of great basketball and good people. Celebrities like Fat Joe, Cory Gunz, and Troy Ave were in the building to check out the Entertainers Basketball Classic. Fans at the Rucker were also treated to a special performance by Epic Records signee Vinny Cha$e.
We had the opportunity to get Shaq’s thoughts on the EBC basketball league and the success of his Reebok shoe since being re-released.
Tell us about the importance of the EBC at the Rucker for you?
Oh man, basketball at the Rucker Park is legendary. The best in the NBA have stepped into the Rucker to play against the best talent of the streets. Everyone from Kobe Bryant to Kevin Durant have blessed the EBC with their skills. I wish I would’ve came here when I was younger and played at the Rucker, but its better late than never, am just honored to be a celebrity coach tonight for Team MMG and ready to get this W.
Give us your thoughts on the recent success of your Reebok sneaker.
Am extremely happy about the rerelease of my Reebok shoes. I feel like they look better now than when they first came out. The response from the fans has been outstanding and Reebok has really done a good job of reintroducing the sneakers to the people. Today, we out here as well to display my upcoming sneaker the Shaqnosis, and hook the people some with some kicks and cool Reebok gear.
