Peace! Today’s Mathematics is Knowledge Power all being Born to Equality. Knowing how to influence change is the principle objective of today’s reality and having the ability to translate that Knowledge to any and all who need it is the ultimate goal. Knowledge means to know and Power is the ability to influence change, so while some may say that Knowledge is Power, however, Knowing how to use the Knowledge in all circumstances is the real proof of its Power. Equality is the state or quality of being Equal, so the Power of the Knowledge is the same among all who use it properly.
As the Black community responds with anger, disappointment, and rage after the not guilty verdict of George Zimmerman, it must be Known that all voices in all communities have the Power to keep these types of travesties from occurring again. In New York and L.A., people of all races and social classes took to the streets yesterday to protest the atrocious decision by the almost all white jury to acquit Zimmerman on all charges. The news couldn’t help but show that it was more than just Black people who were willing to unapologetically speak out against this obvious injustice. Konvict Muzik general and Senegalese national Akon announced immediately after the verdict via Instagram that Black people in this country can only expect to be treated like we deserve if we return to the continent of our origin, Africa. In his bold and unpopular statement, Akon says, “Every African American in the United States need to move their money, family, knowledge back to Africa were u will be treated like the royalty you are. You don’t deserve this treatment. This is not your country!!” Now, most Black people may not be willing to make that exodus, but the Truth is that we will never Know what our lives would be like without the biggest global crime being committed against us by Europeans. As much as it has been promoted for those upset with the verdict of Zimmerman, the most disrespectful instruction given to the people by politicians is to go to their church and pray for change. We’ve been praying for hundreds of years and at best, nothing has changed. It’s sad that in 2013, we have the same options that we had in 1963.
Knowledge Power simply means to Know your Power and your influence among the people who are around and even the ones you don’t see. This helps us to see the strength in unity and the importance of this solidarity had never been recognized as much as it is today. Peace to all!
