If you didn’t know by now, the Ying Yang Twins are back, and last night at Santos Party House in NYC, the Atlanta duo proved that they still got what it takes to make the ladies keep twerking and saltshakin.’
Kicking things off in full twerk mode, the Ying Yang Twins brought it back to the days of when the booty was rockin’ everywhere when they performed their guest verses off Bubba Sprarxxx‘s “Ms. New Booty,” and the mega smash hit from Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz “Get Low,” which had the ladies in Santos touching their toes like it was 2003. Shortly after their guest features, D-Roc and Kaine would hit us with their infectious Trick Daddy assisted record “Whats Happenin.'”
After refreshing our memories with a few of their most well known hits, the Ying Yang Twins caught us up to speed with their new music, off thier latest mixtape Ass In Session. They would began this set performing their controversial record “Sayin My Word,” which if you have not heard, is a record in which Ying Yang Twins address French Montana and Kanye West for the word “HAAAAAAAAAANNNN.” Things would then go back to twerk mode with a track that has been picking up heat in Southern airwaves entitled “Miley Cyrus.”
After getting a taste of their new music, the Ying Yang Twins took us back down memory lane with their club anthems. “Shake” and “Whistle While You Twerk” had the venue on smash as the records rattled through the unique speaker system at Santos Party House. One of the most anticipated records of the night was “Whisper,” had us all on our toes, two stepping to the contagious beat produced by Mr.Collipark, who was in attendance.The Ying Yang Twins would close out their show in NYC with their mega twerking hit “Salt Shaker” giving the ladies one more anthem and reason to drop it before they left Santos.
The Ying Yang Twins put on a show last night, and regardless of what you make think of them, they do deserve a lot of credit for what they did for the genre of Hip-Hop during the Crunk era and raising awareness of this moevment that has now taking over white America, the twerk!HAAAAAAAANNNN.
