It’s been a while since the world’s been blessed with a classic Mannie Fresh beat, but it may be coming sooner than you think!

The New Orleans native is back on the scene and came to Le Poisson Rouge in New York City last night to reignite his flame and remind the crowd what they’ve been missing.

Many know Mannie from the super-collaborations he’s had with Cash Money Records as producer and DJ back in the 90’s and early 2000s, including albums for the Hot Boys and his own group with Birdman, Big Tymers.

The vibe at Le Poisson Rouge was very laid-back, but the audience was anxious nonetheless. He stepped up to the mic affront an intimate crowd and asked audience members: “What do yall want to hear”-then allowed the music to speak for itself for a majority of the night. Throughout the show, Mannie catered to everyone’s needs; playing a variety of classics from Michael Jackson, to Cash Money’s 1999 hit “Bling Bling,” and also scratched a few recent joints.

Although Mannie didn’t perform any of his Big Tymer verses, we still have hope to be seeing that sometime soon.

In an interview with Sway earlier this week, Birdman hinted at some upcoming collaborations that the two may have together scheduled to drop in September/ October. Just to clear the air, Birdman said “We’ve never had no problem. I’ve been talking to Fresh alot lately […] we been talking about doing music”. He also mentioned reuniting with Juvenille as well! Lets keep our fingers crossed!
