The line between independent labels and the majors is being blurred more and more each year, in part due to Tech N9ne and Travis O’Guin’s Strange Music. The consistent, high-octane music from the label’s lethal roster has forced its competitors to give mad props. Strange Music has so far strategically spaced out seven projects in 2013 to give fans enough time to digest and then whet their appetite for more. And they have at least three more releases planned for the last quarter. Their winning formula? Merchandise, sold-out tours, and camaraderie within the label. The collaborations within the Strange Music family allow for the crossover of fans and pushes the creativity of the artists to new frontiers. —Bryan Hahn
