Bolt has his sights on retirement, but not just yet
Coming off a three gold medal performance at the World Championships in Moscow, Usain Bolt is now looking forward to the 2016 Olympics. Surprisingly though Bolt is already talking about 2016 being his last Olympics.
Bolt told the Associated Press this Wednesday that he wants to win more gold in Rio, set a new 200m record, and grab gold at the Commonwealth Games.
Capturing gold in Moscow made Bolt the most decorated athlete in world championship history, but he knows he must dominate till the very end. “If I want to be among the greats of (Muhammad) Ali and Pele and all these guys, I have to continue dominating until I retire,” Bolt said.
Bolt tripled and won gold in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay in the last two Olympics (Beijing and London). As he told the AP above he will be looking to do the same in Rio.
If these are the last years of Usain Bolt than we should take in the greatness that is in front of us. After 2016 we may never see an athlete like this in track and field ever again.
