Jay Rock takes his turn over Pusha’s headbanger.
Earlier this week, Top Dawg–the president of Top Dawg Entertainment (how ironic)–promised new music from every member of TDE with the exception of Kendrick Lamar (which is fine by us, he’s all over the internet every day anyway), and today it begins. Rather than giving us an original song, Jay Rock makes use of Don Cannon & Kanye West’s “Numbers On The Board” instrumental, and, well, spazzes out.
While Kendrick doesn’t have new music coming this week, he is ad-libbing all over the latter half of this record, amping Rock after every couple bars until the song is over. Sounds like they’re just having fun with it.
Which, ultimately, is how it should be.
