Mass MC Benefit gives emo rap a new definition
Massachusetts veteran MC B.E.N.E.F.I.T. fights through his troubles and tells the tale like any hard-hitting MC. At first glimpse, one might think they’ve accidentally hit the link to a horror film due to the imagery being portrayed on screen, but as the video continues to play, the viewer immediately picks up on the pain of the artist and is catapulted down an emotional course.
After making its debut on YouTube, “Fightin” has more than 100,000 views. A tell-tale sign that B.E.N.E.F.I.T is connecting with his audience and hitting what might be an all too familiar chord with some. Like a lot of MCs, B.E.N.E.F.I.T has been touched by tragedy and is fighting his demons as he cries out wishing he was “Mr. Fixit” and “a motherless son.” Look for this banger on B.E.N.E.F.I.T.’s forthcoming Executioner Of Time album.
