With the recent devastation from Super-Typhoon Haiyan in the Philipinnes, we take a look at some of hip-hop’s most charitable members.

When really considered (and contrary to what some may believe), most rappers are decent people. They have “soft spots” like the rest of us, and have causes near and dear to their hearts that they feel need attention and support. Many hit a point where their “celebrity” can be used as a weapon, spotlighting topics and foundations that would otherwise go unnoticed. And after making millions upon millions of dollars (even in today’s current music industry landscape) and family and friends are taken care of, helping others is always one of the most fulfilling things to do.

In lieu of the efforts made by Diddy’s children and Game to donate to relief efforts in the Philippines, we’ve compiled a list of other rappers and members of the hip hop community who’ve given back. Take a look and let us know what you think.
