At the tender age of 25 years, Rihanna has accomplished so much. She will add yet another achievement this year when she’ll be the first artist honored for her career achievements at the American Music Awards. Rihanna will receive the first ever AMA Icon award at the ceremony for the commix efforts she has made with both her music and persona.
Larry Klein, the producer of the AMA’s stated RiRi will be awarded the prize for her “influential” and “innovative” career. “The first-ever Icon Award was created to honor an artist whose body of work has made a profound influence over pop music on a global level,” said Klein. “Rihanna’s iconic and innovative sound has enabled her to become one of the most influential and best-selling artists of all time.”
The AMA’s will air November 24th on ABC.
