Both yesterday (“’03 Bonnie & Clyde”) and today (“Part II: On the Run”), Beyoncé and Jay Z have been and continue to be contemporary culture’s reigning Bonnie and Clyde figures. They titled themselves and have gone on to drive the point home over and over again. “She was a good girl ’til she knew me…” No, not the original Bonnie, but the other B. Now look at them: they’re the music world’s first billionaire power couple, but, more importantly, they’re culture makers with a love story for the books.
