amina-buddaflyHer Source had the chance to get the dirt from singer and star of the VH1 hit reality show “Love and Hip Hop” Amina Buddafly. She chatted with us about her marriage to Peter Gunz, her music career, her feelings towards cast member Tara, and her experience on “Love & Hip Hop.”

1. How do you feel about the non-presence of girl groups today?

Amina Buddalfy: I do miss the presence of girl groups because there are none today that could make a difference. Girl groups are all about the harmony and presence within the groups like it was in the 90’s and I miss the presence of SWV, TLC, and other groups from the 90’s that made an impact in music.

2. If you could collaborate with anybody on a song, who would it be and why?

AB: If I had to collaborate with anybody, it would be the jazz singer Joe Sample because I grew up listening to his music and my parents introduced me to his music. Ne-Yo I would definitely when it comes to writing songs with.

3. Would Black Buddafly reunite?

AB: I would be definitely be down with reuniting with my sisters because we went our separate ways, but I still love them. I probably want to do it in the future, but not right now.

4. What made you join the cast of “Love & Hip Hop”?

AB: I joined the cast because of Peter and they wanted to hear Peter’s story as he tried to step into the management role as he manages me, his son Cory Gunz, and Jabril from the “Motown” Broadway musical. They wanted another story that was involved in a love triangle.

5. When did you meet Peter?

AB: I met Peter while working with a band up in the village in New York and everyone in the band knew who he was and they were telling me that he was smart and intelligent. I ended up falling for him after my break up with my boyfriend.

6. When and where Did You Get Married To Peter?

AB: I married Peter on February 16, 2013 at a New York downtown courtroom and we are going to be celebrating our one year anniversary in February 2014.

7.  What was your reaction when Tara slapped you?

AB: When Tara slapped me, I knew that she was going to react to me telling her that me and Peter we were married, but I didn’t know that she was going get physical with me and I was so blindsided by her reaction. I’m not a violent person, but I wouldn’t go that route.

8. How did it feel when Yandy said that Tara and Peter slept with each other three weeks after their situation?

AB: I am still pissed with that because that is something that I should’ve asked Peter now that we are together and that she needs to apologize to me for disrespecting me by calling me out on the show.

9. What are your feelings towards Tara now?

AB: My feelings towards Tara are that I really don’t care for her, but she should take into consideration that I am married and she shouldn’t mess with Peter. Even though, she slapped me, I should be mad at Peter, but not her.

10. How often do you hear people comparing you to Joseline from “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta”?

AB: I hear that a lot even though I never watched the show, but they compared me and him to Joseline and Stevie J. People made it seem like Peter like Stevie J as a player, me as Joseline, and Tara as Mimi. I don’t have a problem being compared to her.

11. What are some of the upcoming projects that you have in the works?

AB: Some of the projects that I have in the works are that I have songs out on iTunes now that I have performed on the show and an EP coming out next week.
