If you were alive this year and conscious enough to follow the news, you know that Kanye West has been everywhere, partly because of his latest album Yeezus. There hasn’t been a project this decisive in a long time; whether people loved or hated it, it still captured the public’s imagination. Kanye had a serious message that he wanted to get off of his chest, and he was successful in a big way. It was a beautifully abrasive album that obliterated all preconceived notions of what his music should sound like, it might represent a major step in a new direction for hip hop.
