Big Boy's Block Party With Lupe Fiasco And Big Sean At The Hollywood Palladium

Lupe Fiasco‘s last couple years have been…tumultuous.  Since 2009, when his controversial Lasers album debuted #1 on Billboard, the extremely talented lyricist has had his share of ups and downs.  Musically, he’s been solid–his follow-up to Lasers, Food & Liquor 2, was nominated for a Grammy last year–but his anti-Obama rants, and unfortunate interactions with fans (and Chief Keef) both in person and over social media has left the jury out on the defiant rapper.  This however, doesn’t take away from the fact that Lupe Fiasco puts everything he has in his music, which has made for gems such as “Words I Never Said”, “Crack”, and “ITAL (Roses)”, and we have no doubt that will change for his upcoming LP, Tetsuo & Youth.  Chris Brown is already rumored to be making contributions to the LP, and Fiasco just wrapped up his successful Tetsuo & Youth preview tour, during which he previewed new music (“Drizzy’s Law”), and surely made fans out of people that weren’t exactly Lupe enthusiasts.  T&Y may be Lupe’s best work in a while, and with Common and Kanye also dropping later this year, it should be a fun one for Chicago.
