Neo soul songstress Jojo said, “I know why the caged bird sings, because she freakin’ has to.” After years in legal battles, trying to get out of her contract with Blackground Records, she has finally been set free from her contract and has signed a new deal with Atlantic Records. After being forbidden to release new music commercially, Jojo went to court against the imprint Da Family Records. In the suit, she claimed that she had turned in a completed third album that was never released. Additionally, the producers from that album and “other vendors” were never paid. In 2012, Jojo managed to drop some mixtapes with the same producer known for working with Drake on his mixtapes, Noah “40″ Shebib. Now that she has been set free from her previous contract, she is working on her 3rd album, which she just dropped a new single for, entitled “Anything,” featuring Inglewood, California MC Casey Veggies.
