It’s been well documented that Amalgam Digital, as well as imprints like Koch (now E1) Records, was one of the premier labels to carry the torch for independent Hip-Hop in the mid ’00s before it became the popular thing to do. Back when the Internet was revolutionizing how we listened to music, labels like Amalgam Digital were giving grassroots Hip-Hop acts with rabid fan bases, such as Joe Budden, incarcerated street legend Max B, Curren$y, and Lil B, a platform to deliver their art to the public.

Now that their blueprint of web-based music consumption has become widely accepted, the CEO of the independent, digital label is moving out of the front office and into the recording studio.

Anyextee (pronounced “Next”) ran Amalgam Digital for nearly ten years, but now his sights are set on the artistic side of the music business. His first foray will be the forthcoming debut album, Executive Decisions. The album will not feature any of Amalgam Digital’s past or present stars, but it will boast production from !llmind, MoSS, D1, Premise, and more.

Executive Decisions is set to be released on Amalgam Digital on February 25th. Check out the trailer below.
