Jay Z and Beyonce both had monster 2013’s, including releasing multi-platinum albums, conducting immensely successful tours and, quite bluntly, just making a lot of money.
It appears their 2014 is off to a similar start.
Jay Z‘s infamously unconventional method to releasing his Magna Carta Holy Grail album was upended by only his wife’s extremely secretive, closed-door release of her almost-instantly platinum Beyonce album, which was released to iTunes one Thursday night despite absolutely no promotion or prior announcement. The married couple will take their larger than life personas to the Grammy stage next Sunday night to perform a few of their classic records, including their recent smash, “Drunk In Love”, and quite possibly their duet on Jay Z’s most recent album, “Part II (On The Run)”.
Bey and Hov will be joined by Robin Thicke, Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, and a slew of music’s biggest acts on music’s biggest night this coming Sunday.
