Wiz Khalifa is one of the many folks who can’t wait for OutKast’s upcoming reunion tour.

When news started to spread that OutKast would perform at the upcoming Hangout Music Festival in Alabama, lots of people were beyond thrilled. Since the younger generation didn’t get a chance to see the rap group perform live back in the day, plenty of fans are jumping at the chance to attend the show.

One person who’s clearly excited about the reunion is Wiz Khalifa. During a recent conversation with MTV News, the rapper said he was one of the fans that never had an opportunity to see them live. Considering he’s sharing a bill with OutKast at the concert, chances are he won’t miss out on the upcoming event.

“I never got a chance to see OutKast live, ever. It’s real good to see those two working together, providing this experience for fans and people who have been wanting to see them for years and years and years. It was bound to happen,” Wiz told the news outlet.

He said that he was introduced to their music by his mom. Since she played so much of their work, Wiz said he never thought of OutKast as an old group.

“It wasn’t like they were old to me, because they were hella relevant, but my mom loved OutKast as much as I did,” he said. “It tripped me out because we shared that CD, we shared a lot of CD’s, but that was one of her favorite ones,” he added.

If you can’t attend the Hangout Music Festival this year, don’t beat yourself up. OutKast is also slated to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The event will serve as the group’s first performance since the release of Idlewild. According to the group’s official Facebook page, they will also play a total of 40 different shows this year.
