Oakland teen, Justice Toliver, killed by younger brother
17-year-old Justice Toliver was shot and killed by her 13-year-old brother at their apartment complex in Oakland’s Chinatown on Thursday.
According to officials, Toliver was shot by her 13-year-old brother, Mario Toliver, shortly after noon in their apartment complex on the 800 block of Franklin Street.
Relatives of the victim and suspect reported to the Bay Area’s KRON4 News that what led up to the shooting was an argument over a laundry dispute.
“The brother and sister got into an argument about ruining some clothing, possibly that she bleached some of his clothing and that argument somehow escalated to a shooting,” reported Justine Waldman.
The Oakland Police Department has not yet released a motive for the shooting, and are still searching for the suspect.
