Gold never gets old! Today, Sony announced the release of their new Gold Wireless Headset for PlayStation units. According to Sony, the $99 PULSE-Elite Edition headset will offer 7.1 virtual surround sound, custom sound profiles that were created by developers for PlayStation titles and other features. “Audio is a critical part of the overall gaming experience,” said John Koller VP of Marketing for SCEA.
“Because our headsets are made for PlayStation gamers, by gamers, you’ll truly hear the action the way it was meant to sound.”
According to Sony, the wireless headphones will release later this month in time for Valentine’s Day.
Also today, Sony announced tonight’s release of system software update 1.60 for the PS4 system. According to Sony, the update will be available later tonight.
According to a press release by Sony, SCEA will release a free Headset Companion App, compatible with both the PULSE – Elite Edition and new Gold Wireless Headsets, on PlayStation Store.
The app allows gamers to download the custom and game-specific audio modes created by developers.
