How does it feel to go into your fourth season?

Erica Hubbard: We’re happy. We’re happy that Queen Latifah believed in us and really got the show running. They’re putting us back on air March 4th. I’m especially happy that people are responding to Kita the way they have been. I appreciate all the Tweets and Facebook messages about my character. I just love the support because when you first start a show you never know if the audience is going to connect to it in the first and second season. But once you in the third and fourth season, we’re good, we got the support system.

Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, What are your do’s and don’ts when it comes to love and relationship?

EH:I don’t know; I’m so laid back. Any gift I get is appreciative. I can go to the movies or dinner. I mean I have a lot of do’s. Don’ts I don’t have many don’ts because I’m not the arrogant girls who’s like “you have to do this for me” or “don’t do that.” I’m not trying to use the words “don’t” or “can’t.” I just go with the flow. It’s the little things that count.

What are your favorite kinds of flowers you like getting on Valentine’s Day?

EH: Well besides the roses, I mean any kind of flowers but I like orchids.

How do you feel about African American actresses portraying the other woman on TV shows and in movies?

EH: I’m happy to see African-American women stepping up and creating materials to be aired, whether its on the big screen or on television because we have a lot of stories to be told in our community. They may not be the same stories you would see in the mainstream but they’re good stories. So we need to have a platform for our stories to be stories. You got people like Queen Latifah, Forest Whitaker, Oprah, all these people making more and more roles out there then mainstream will start to take notice and make more roles for us as well.

What can expect from your character Kita this time around?

EH: Well finally, since people have been writing that they want to see more of a love life from Kita, we’re bringing back Christian Keys who plays Kita’s boyfriend and sparks fly. There’s a lot of kissing going on.

What other projects that you have in the works besides Black Coffee and Let’s Stay Together?

EH: I just finished a movie called “My Favorite Five”. I play this character named Sybil who’s basically forced to go on dates with guys because of her friend and co-worker. Let me tell you, shes out there. I mean I don’t want to say “promiscuous” but she’s out there. So she tries to recruit to get this deal made for her company. So my character ends up going out on a date with B Ray Davis and her character goes out with Brian White. We just finished so it’ll probably come out at the end of 2014.
Which you like making: big screens hits or sticking to television?
EH: I can say I do both ways well but you’re missing another one that most people don’t include but I like to include it. It’s the stage. I do a lot of theater. Believe it or not I played a slave on stage last year.
