For the month of February, we all try to remember some of history’s greatest thinkers and doers not just of color, but of all humanity. And for legendary producers, The Heatmakerz, it’s no different. Using a Smokey Robinson sample, Rsonist and Ill Wayno create the perfect backdrop for a short montage that commemorates some of the defining moments in Black history.
It’s one thing to hear a great, soulful beat on the radio or in the club, but to see it being born and nurtured is a totally different experience. You can tell that these guys have been doing it longer than most. Platinum records don’t produce themselves.
