nas_1378740201236With the joy of his 20th anniversary of his 1994 debut album, Illmatic, approaching Nas is talking with Microsoft’s Xbox Entertainment Studios on making “Street Dreams,” which will be a one and half hour T.V series. It will be loosely based on his experiences in Queens as an MC in the 1990s. To quote his album Illmatic, the TV series will be based on Nas’ experiences “surviving the times destined to shine.” Street Dreams will be directed and written by Jonathan Levin, who also directed, The Wackness, which actually featured Nas tracks on the soundtrack. The Wackness starred Method Man in the movie. Much like the up coming, Street Dreams, it was set in New York in the 90s era to a hip hop soundtrack. Nas will also be set to grace the TV series with his music as the soundtrack.
