During London Fashion Week, fashion designer, Tom Ford, unveiled a “knock off of a knock off “of Jay Z‘s Tom Ford jersey. The jersey has the designer’s name, the number 61 (year Ford was born) and the word MOLLY crossed out, which the Brooklyn rapper wears during performances. Models walked down the runway in a sequin midi dress of the aforementioned.
This isn’t the first time either persons has declared their respect for one another.
Jay Z declared ‘I don’t pop Molly/I rock Tom Ford,” on the single “Tom Ford” off his latest album, Magna Carter Holly Grail. Fashion designer, Tom Ford was flattered so much by the statement, he dubbed it his favorite line.
“Who would not be flattered to have an entire Jay-Z track named after them? I mean, come on, it’s pretty rare that something like that happens,” Ford said in an interview with WWD. “It’s a kind of validation of one’s work, as it means that one has really penetrated and made an impact on popular culture.”
He continued on to say, “I love that he gets a ‘high’ from my clothes. I have been dressing him for years now and I have to say I think he looks great in my clothes.”
There is an immense amount of admiration between the two. Will there be a fashion collaboration between them?
