New Yorkers, your prayers are being answered slowly but surely. Last year, a few dozen subway stations in New York City was blessed with mobile service and wifi capabilities. Now The Verge reports that Transit Wireless is set to move forward with phase two of the amazing project by upgrading at least 39 subway stations including Grand Central Station.

The expansion will hit 29 new stations in Queens and 11 in Manhattan. The company behind this blessing claims that more than 250 million people will have internet access on the trains per year. The next phase of the project is set to be completed by this summer.

“We are not only extending our network to all underground stations in Queens and additional stations in Manhattan,” said Transit CEO William A. Bayne Jr., “we are setting the stage for future innovations that will provide riders with an enhanced experience in the New York City subway system.”

This effort will hopefully encourage more technological updates in the city that needs them most!
