Find out more about the Nokia 220 and Asha 230!
Communications and information technology corporation Nokia has welcomed Android developers with open arms as they branch out to expand their global developer footprint with momentum across both Lumia and Asha.
The new software was unveiled during a press conference today at Mobile World Congress, in addition to other inexpensive handsets that include a brand new series of smartphones that debuted on the Nokia X software platform.
Because of its intent to serve as an entry-level smartphone, the Nokia Asha 230 comes equipped with a touchscreen that users will be able to double tap to wake the device. In addition, the 230 also includes Nokia’s Fastlane, a stream that displays all of the user’s notifications, as well as the most recently opened apps, etc.
Expected to incorporate the Microsoft OneDrive Support to every Asha device, an updated version of the Asha software will be due out in April. The Microsoft OneDrive Support allows for users to back up both photos and video in their cloud. Updates will include free music streaming services with MixRadio, smarter imaging the opportunity for users to create their own wallpapers with Asha Motion.
While not a smartphone, the Nokia 220 is an inexpensive mobile device as well, with features that include:
- 2.4-inch display
- 2 MP camera
- 2G connectivity
- Dual-SIM variant
- Facebook and Twitter pre-loaded
- Integrated Bing into Nokia Express Browser
The Nokia Asha 230 is now globally on sale for $62 and the Nokia 220 is priced at $40.
