Everything you’re going through is preparing you for what you’ve asked for
David finds and removes the sperm out of MJ’s fridge. He demands she take a pregnancy test but she refuses, David finally believes her and soon after leaves out before saying, “If you wanted a baby all you had to do was ask.” MJ ponders his words just for a few seconds before she chases after him and admits she is still in love with him. The two are in a heated argument out in the middle of the street when David throws the final blow letting her know she is too late. As if her heart could break anymore.
Mary Jane wrongly accuses Nichelle of spilling the beans about David’s sperm. Once MJ shares this info with Lisa she finally admits to the news “slipping” to David. The two decide that some liquid courage is needed for the rest of the night. Their poison: tequila. Once the two have had quite a bit of tequila MJ calls Nichelle several times foolishly apologizing to her voicemail. The two then take a chauffeured ride from driver Leo.
MJ shows up at David’s house and his supermodel girlfriend answers the door. She tries a drunken attempt for a final plea to no attest. Once she’s made a complete fool out of herself she returns to the car where Lisa awaits. Lisa gets called into work and orders Leo to take MJ to Kara.
Once Mary Jane confides in Kara about her former situation with Andre, Kara suggests Mary Jane apologize to Avery. Apparently these two needed some more liquid courage, as if MJ hadn’t had enough already.
The pair show up at Avery and Andre’s home and to their surprise are approached by Avery at the back car window. She maturely invites them in but not before calling Mary Jane a stalker. MJ sincerely apologizes to Avery right before she kicks them out. Sometimes MJ doesn’t always think before she speaks. She thought it was okay to give Avery advice on their sex life. Not! But the important thing is she apologized and meant it.
“You’ve lost him! He’s with someone else! He doesn’t want you!” Lisa had to basically yell this at Mary Jane before she decided that it wasn’t best to actually use David’s sperm. She came to her senses and realized that his spiel about “if you wanted a baby all you had to do was ask,” didn’t mean he was okay with her continuing with the procedure. He was flattered but nowhere near okay with her following through.
As the season finale comes to an end Mary Jane has her aha! moment. She returns to David’s one final time. Sober. She returns his sperm and says good-bye. She wishes him a happy life. And just like that she let’s go, realizing that love in fact, does stink.
