A federal appeals court on Wednesday ordered Google to remove ”Innocence of Muslims” from YouTube, the anti-Muslim film that sparked outrage especially in the Middle East. The film was widely-condemned for its anti-Islam message.

Cindy Lee Garcia, the actress in the film, sued Google to remove the film after threats of violence were made against her. Garcia said she was hired by the film’s director, Mark Basseley Youssef, to be part of a film called “Desert Warriors,” which was supposed to be an historical adventure film. The filmmaker later dubbed over the film to give the appearance that Ms. Garcia had made accusations against Prophet Mohammed.

However, Google and YouTube argued that Ms. Garcia was to blame for the threats to her life because it was her lawsuit to have the film removed from YouTube that sparked the publicity.
