Talk about breaking the bank.
The week may not be over, but as of today rapper Da Brat is definitely having the worst one so far. On top of serving a three-year bid for assaulting former Atlanta Falcons’ cheerleader Shayla Stevens, she now has to pay the victim $6.4 MILLION because of the incident.
Stevens reportedly sued Da Brat- born Shawntae Harris– back in ’09 for “facial scarring, severe mental pain, and neurological impairment,” sources from TMZ say. This civil case leads back to when Harris went upside Stevens’ head with a bottle back in 2007 at an Atlanta nightclub. The damage to her face must have been pretty wild for the amount she sued for- and won.
Although the verdict was held off briefly Wednesday when one of the jurors admitted that he was an illegal immigrant, today- with a new jury- Da Brat has to get ready to cough up the cash.
On the bright side, once she pays Miss Stevens she can finally put the assault behind her- let’s just hope she steers clear from clubs…and bottles…and cheerleaders for a while.
