Lil Boosie, free! Who would have ever thought that the day would come where the words, “Free, Lil Boosie,” would ever be rearranged to form any other sentence? Well, that day finally came and internet Hip-Hop activists rejoiced. At the same time, the bitter internet trolls awoke and spewed their vitriol just as passionately. The worst part of the situation? It takes a rare occurrence like this for people to express their disgust with the legal system or society’s praise for a convicted rapper. If only those same people turned their computer off and tried to do something about the injustices that take place everyday. Welp. Chynna Rogers (feat. A$AP Ant x A$AP Twelvyy) – “Free Crack (Remix)” (Prod. Cloud Atrium)
It’s always respectable to see a female emcee go the lyrical route and show up some of the guys. But it’s just as impressive if one can convince me with her lyrics that she’s tougher than me. Chynna is one of those emcees.

Jeremiah Jae (feat. Oliver The 2nd) – “Survival”
The Black Jungle Squad is back. Jeremiah and Oliver created this peaceful track on Warp Records regarding a not so peaceful topic-violence in the streets.

L’Orange (feat. Blu) – “Need You”
Producer L’Orange is putting out an album with Mello Music Group called The Orchid Days. You should care because of tracks like this featuring Blu. Expect more of this on the album. L’Orange had this to say about the single: “A man fell in love. Then, the world was destroyed by an ever growing nothing in the sky.”

L.E.O. & Carnage – “Here I Go Again”
Producer Carnage and emcee L.E.O. (Love Equals Omnipotence) are dropping The Boombox Theatre and this precise and soulful tracks is one of the standouts. It’s a fresh of breath air, not just production wise or lyrically, but considering the song structure.

Anakan – “Rhombus”
Sampling Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin,” Anakan add a lot more boom to the bass and a whole lot more vicious lines. These guys (Justiiice, Retro, and Satchel Stokes) told me the track was a “very energetic song, very lyrical, just all around hot.” What do you guys think?
