Even though Aaron Mcgruder’s involvement in the upcoming season of The Boondocks is sorely missed and disappointingly absent, we are still looking forward to the April 21st premiere. Huey, Riley, and Grandad are back for more mayhem and mischief, apparently without much financial backing this time around.
The official trailer, released yesterday, gives fans even more reasons to be excited for the new episode, thanks to the number of hilariously clips that hint at thorough parody of everything pop culture. With so much taken place since the last time the show aired, there is a copious amount of material for the writers to rip through; including the ongoing recession crises, TV’s rising popularity, Breaking Bad, and the Hollywood’s current obsession with traditional Black stories. It looks like it will still maintain its hard edge and respectable social commentary.
