For over two decades, the hip hop jazz band has delivered consistent record after record, dropping fifteen quality projects in that time frame. Yesterday, Questlove posted the artwork for the group’s new single, “When The People Cheer”, with the caption that reads:

So to reiterate, yes the new Roots album will be on store shelves imminently, next month, and will be titled …and then you shoot your cousin. Is this the sequel to their 2012 stellar concept album, Undun? Or something entirely different? We don’t know yet, but you can be sure that it will be a good release once again.

Luckily, the crew decided to drop the new single on Def Jam’s soundcloud and “When The People Cheer” delivers. Black Thought contributes one of his hardest verses to date and the production is top notch. You can check out the song below.
