This month, “Mean Girls” turns 10. Paying homage to a movie that defined a generation and hallmarked a better half of Lindsay Lohan’s career, Huffington Post payed homage to the movies and hunted down the cast members of the movie Mean Girls. You won’t find Regina George but they are the actors who gave the movie the charm it still has today.
Among the interviewed cast was Jill Morrison, who played the crying girl at the school assembly who dreamt of baking a cake with rainbows and smiles, Julie Chantrey as Amber D’Alessio, the girl who once made out with a hot dog and Daniel DeSanto as Jason, the guy who added to the many woes of mean girl, Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert).
Many of the cast members said that they’re recognized in public, sometimes at hot yoga studios and other times in mobile dating apps like Tinder and fans instantly spits lines from the movie. Others members were surprised that the film garnered so much attention.
“Everyone had kind of done something, but we just thought we were shooting another high school movie, right? I mean I had no idea. It’s such a rare thing,” said Desanto in the article.
But everyone unanimously agreed that film writer and co-star, Tina Fey is a force to be reckoned with.
“Ten years later, she’s now golden, because she deserves to be golden, because she’s the hardest working woman in show business,” said Dwayne Hill to Huffington Post. Hill played Coach Carr in the film.
Fey has alluded to a possible reunion of the cast and even Lohan has teased about a possible homecoming of the bunch. Until then, the movie will suffice.
