Check out these dope photos from the “Time is Illmatic” premiere last night at the Beacon Theatre.
Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal introduced the film. They spoke about how it is an important New York story. Swizz Beatz, Pete Rock and Raekwon were in attendance. Swizz is featured in the documentary. The film gives a fascinating behind the scenes look at the making of “Illmatic.” It chronicles he birth, family roots and journey to being signed to Columbia Records. Alicia Keys took the stage to introduce Nas. After the screening, Nas gave a special performance of his entire “Illmatic” album. The crowd sang along and danced. The party continued at Providence night club where D-Nice spun tunes and guests enjoyed specialty Hennessy cocktails. The evening was also presented by AT&T, Heineken, Revolt TV and Beats Electronics.
