Andy Mineo shut down the house Thursday night (April 18th) at Santos Party House. The line filled with eager devoted fans and God lover’s was wrapped around the corner. The concert was Mineo’s first time headlining a show in over a year. Rob Markman, MTV News reporter kept the crowd entertained while waiting for Andy to hit the stage. The sold out show began with opening act Marz, who serenaded the audience with her powerful and mesmerizing voice and Christon Gray‘s soulful performance. Mineo performed songs from his new EP ‘Never Land’ and tracks from Hereos For Sale. The crowd rapped along to the lyrics of Never Land (feat. Marz) and “turned up” to Paisano’s Wylin’.

The night was bitter sweet for Mineo as it was not only his birthday but his girlfriend was in attendance who he recently proposed to. After bringing his finance on stage to encourage her Andy took a minute to connect with the crowd on his thoughts on marriage. He says, “to get down on one knee in an act of service and commitment and say I give all that I have to you… that’s an amazing picture…I’m getting on the ground and saying, I love you I want to serve you..I want to commit to you, I want to forsake every other person for the rest my life and this is a sign of that commitment. And so I thought about it for a second and said man that’s such a dope image, but its ultimately an image of something even greater. See, everybody wants to be wanted, everybody wants to be loved, everybody wants to be needed, everybody wants to have commitment, everyone wants that security, and I think marriage is just the foretaste, it’s just the image that God has given us to show us about what his relationship is like with us.” Mineo goes on to say, “Jesus doesn’t just die upon that cross…he rose from the grave three days later.” The concert was just days before Easter, the day which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

The crowd begged for an encore of “You Can’t Stop Me” and before Mineo left the stage he hopped in the crowd for a mosh. Mineo wants to be the light for the world to see his passion and faith for God and his performance last night surely did just that.
