Monifah Carter: I’m happy to be back on the show. I’m very excited about the new season and I can wait to watch it with everyone else.

What does it mean to be an R&B Diva?

M.C.: As  one of the veterans from the franchise and as an singer living the dream and being the best that you can be that’s what it mean to me.

How is your chemistry with new cast members Latavia and Meelah and also with the ladies of R&B Divas LA?

M.C.: The chemistry is great with both franchises

Since Faith Evans and Nicci Gilbert are no longer on the show, do you still keep in contact with them?

M.C.: When I see them, we speak but I have hung out with them in a while. There’s no beef between us and there are still EP of the show.

How do you feel about today’s R&B music compared to when you first started?

M.C.: It’s back and I’m glad that’s back. It’s a lot stronger than it has been for the past few years so that’s one of the biggest development that has happened. I’ve been in the industry for 14 years. The music is back with a vengeance.

Who are some of the new artists that you are feeling?

M.C.: Some of the artists that I’m feeling are Miguel, Janelle Monae, of course I can’t forget about my peers Jill Scott, India Arie, and I’m a big fan of Musiq Soulchild.

What can fans expect this season?

M.C.: I’m finishing up on my new album and getting ready for a wedding. This time there would be a lot of laughs. It has been very busy for me. I’m excited about this season because there is new people that were added to the cast. So things are great.

What are some of your upcoming projects?

M.C.: Right now, I’m working on a E-Book on my life, some I told on the show but there were things I didn’t tell. I’m starting to become an entrepreneur in my own right. I want to do things in beauty, and of course, my album is the first thing that I am working on.
